For steps to turn movie subtitles or closed captions ON or OFF, select from the following:
On the Movies Anywhere app on a mobile device:
- Play a movie from My Movies
- Tap the screen to bring up playback controls and options
- Tap the Subtitles [CC] icon in the top right
- Select the preferred subtitle language or option to turn ON
- Select OFF to turn off subtitles
On the Movies Anywhere website on a computer:
- Play a movie from My Movies
- Click to pause the movie and bring up playback controls and options
- Click the Subtitles [CC] icon in the bottom right
- Select the preferred subtitle language to turn ON
- Select subtitles off to turn off subtitles
On Apple TV:
- Play a movie from My Movies
- Swipe down on your remote's Touch surface to reveal the Info panel, then swipe right to see the Subtitles panel. Swipe down and select the option that you want to use.
On Fire TV:
- Play a movie from My Movies
- Press Play/Pause button on remote to pause the movie
- Press down on Navigation button to highlight the Closed Captions [CC] icon
- Highlight the preferred language and press the Select button to turn ON
- Highlight None and press the Select button to turn OFF subtitles
- Press Play/Pause button to return to the movie
On Android TV:
- Play a movie from My Movies
- Press the Menu button on your remote
- Press UP to highlight the “Settings” item
- Press OK to activate the menu
- Navigate to Subtitles and select the language you want
- Press back to exit the menu
On Roku:
- Play a movie from My Movies
- Press the settings (*) button on your remote
- Press the Left or Right button until captions mode is on
- Press OK to return to playback
NOTE: To enable Closed Captioning in Spanish (or other languages), go to Roku Settings. Select "Accessibility", then "Captions preferred language", then "Spanish."
Forced Captions: to enable forced captions on Roku (captions for languages other than the primary spoken language):
- Play a movie from My Movies
- Press the settings (*) button on your remote
- Set captions to Always On
- Set caption track to English Forced
On LG TV, VIZIO SmartCast TV, Samsung Smart TV, Xbox One and newer:
- Play a movie from My Movies
- Press DOWN on your remote or controller to view movie player options
- Press DOWN to highlight the Closed Captioning (CC) icon
- Navigate to Subtitles and select the language you want
- Press back to exit the menu
